24 Hours in Rome (When You’ve Already Done All the Touristy Things)

I’ve been there and done that with Rome, yet it remains one of my favorite cities, so anytime I get a chance to go, I’m there! 🤌💜🇮🇹

It started with a lot of hope and lugging my gear and bags all around NYC transit, as the soonest I could get an emergency passport renewal was at 8:30 am on the day I was flying out at 7:30pm 😅 Next thing you know, @ascot_wines, Barry and @sevdiveler were picking me up at FCO and off we went for a feast of pasta 🍝💜

Mamma Mia!

It was so great to meet up with @palazzo_tronconi at Il Sorpasso. I highly recommend this Roman wine bar’s vibe 👌 And of course, I highly recommend Marco’s wines. The Fragelle is a handsy Malvasia that gets under the tongue with a lovely acidity of ripe citrus and all the peaches. It’s mineral and precise with pineapple in the background.

Then it was off to @dalu_ristorante per @strongnosefullbody‘s excellent recommendation💜 Go eat here when in Rome! The @villabucci Verdichio paired perfectly with the fried sardines 🤌 And the saltimbocca loved the @franz_haas_winery Pinot Nero Rosé. Desert was divine. 💜

Of course, no trip to Rome would be complete without a coin toss in the Trevi Fountain. Here’s to my ninth, but certainly not my last time in this marvelous country.

I can’t believe I pulled this one off. La vita è bella!!! 🥰
